In support of the mission of Elon University to create an inclusive campus community, the Registrar’s Office recognizes that some students wish to identify themselves by a name other than their Legal Name. A Chosen Name can be an important part of a person’s identity, and for this reason, beginning in the Fall of 2019, Elon created a policy to better accommodate all students. Under this new policy, Elon students can select a Chosen Name, gender, and pronoun.
