The Center for Race, Ethnicity, & Diversity Education:
Mission and Goals
Mission
The Center for Race, Ethnicity, and Diversity Education (CREDE) is a space for all students, dedicated to fostering empowerment, well-being, and holistic growth. While we welcome and support the entire campus community, we place particular emphasis on addressing the experiences of ALANAM (African American/Black, Latinx/Hispanic, Asian, Pacific Islander, Native American, Alaskan Native, and Multiracial) students. Through resources, programs, and initiatives, we promote cultural awareness, intercultural competence, and a strong sense of belonging for everyone. Our work encourages both self-exploration and a deeper understanding of the diverse identities that enrich our community.
Vision
To become a premier contributor in creating a campus where all members exercise inclusion and individuals flourish.
Goals
- Empower students by offering support, mentorship, and resources that contribute to their holistic growth and overall well-being; ultimately helping them thrive academically and personally during their college experience.
- Contribute to an inclusive campus environment where all students feel a sense of belonging and have equitable opportunities for success. While recognizing and addressing the unique experiences of ALANAM students, we encourage all students to actively engage with and respect the diverse identities and experiences of others.
- Provide educational programs and resources that enable students to develop cultural awareness and intercultural competence, fostering a deeper understanding of their own identities and appreciation of the diverse identities of others.
