Conferences and Dialogues offered for all students:
Intersect: Diversity and Leadership Conference
Intersect is a dynamic experience that explores the intersection of diversity and leadership, providing participants with opportunities for meaningful dialogue, reflection, and action. Through keynote speakers, interactive workshops, and educational sessions, attendees will deepen their understanding of systemic inequities, leadership development, and strategies for fostering positive social change.
Rooted in Elon University’s commitment to diversity and global engagement, Intersect builds upon the legacies of the Diversity Leadership Conference and the Leadership Development Institute. The conference is guided by four key pillars—oppression, social change, power & privilege, and organizational development—each chosen to highlight the interconnectedness of leadership and diversity. By engaging with these themes, participants will gain insights that empower them to create lasting impact within their organizations and communities.
National Day of Racial Healing
The National Day of Racial Healing (NDRH) is an annual event established as part of the W.K. Kellogg Foundation’s Truth, Racial Healing & Transformation efforts. This day aligns with Elon University’s commitment to fostering a community of belonging and well-being for all. The NDRH Community Building and Healing Circle Luncheon provides an opportunity for reflection on shared values and collective action toward healing, unity, and equity.
Join the Center for Race, Ethnicity, and Diversity Education and the Office of Inclusive Excellence Education and Development in recognizing the National Day of Racial Healing as we engage in meaningful dialogue and strengthen our commitment to inclusive excellence.
DEEP: Rooted in Social Justice
The Diversity Emerging Education Program (DEEP) is the signature social justice initiative of the Center for Race, Ethnicity, & Diversity Education (CREDE). Comprised of student educators, DEEP works within the CREDE to engage the Elon community in meaningful conversations about systemic inequities, social justice, and social change.
Through peer-to-peer education, DEEP creates spaces for learning, reflection, and action, with a strong foundation in racial equity. By exploring identities, power, and their connection to systemic inequities, we strive to foster greater awareness and equip the Elon community with the tools to advocate for a more just and inclusive society.
