Brief Biography
Brian Kremer is an Associate Professor of Music Theatre and Music Theatre Program Coordinator. He specializes in teaching voice courses focusing on contemporary singing and performance styles, including music theatre, rock, pop, country, R&B, and hip-hop. His former and current students are performing on Broadway, off-Broadway, on national and international tours, and at various concert and commercial venues.
Apart from his teaching role, Kremer co-authored The Singing Teacher's Guide to Transgender Voices, a comprehensive resource that aims to train transgender and nonbinary singers successfully. This guide helps the academic community better understand the specific needs of transgender students as it pertains to vocal training. Kremer has published several articles on the topic of inclusive practices within educational spaces, including examining power dynamics and defining ethical and informed consent-based practices for the use of instructional touch.
Kremer has presented on various topics at professional conferences, colleges, and universities around the world, including the National Association of Teachers of Singing, Music Theatre Educators Alliance, The International Congress of Voice Teachers, Southeast Theatre Conference, Temple University, and Folkwang Universität der Künste, Peabody Conservatory at Johns Hopkins University, The Voice Foundation, and more. He holds a BFA from Carnegie Mellon University in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and an MM from Manhattan School of Music in New York, New York.
