Brief Biography
Stephen Folger is a physical therapist and biomedical engineer. He joined the Elon Department of Physical Therapy Education (DPTE) in 1998 and currently serves as the Director of Operations and Accreditation for the School of Health Sciences (SHS). From 2013 to 2023, he held the position of DPTE Chair/Program Director and served as Interim SHS Dean in 2022-23. As a professor of physical therapy, Dr. Folger specializes in teaching neuroscience. In recognition of his exceptional teaching, he received the Elon University Daniels-Danieley Award for Excellence in Teaching in 2013. His research interests and publications span neural processing in the somatosensory and motor cortices, concussion testing, clinical decision-making through web-based case studies, and curriculum mapping.
