Elon Day Champions

For many years, hundreds of alumni, parents, faculty, staff, students, and friends of Elon have stepped up as volunteers for Elon Day. These leaders have helped secure thousands of gifts and raised millions of dollars for Elon students. There are TWO WAYS to volunteer— choose your own adventure!

1. Champions

Champions support Elon Day by making their own gift of any size and connecting with and inspiring others to join them. Ways you can spread the Elon Day excitement:

  • Connect with friends and encourage them to make a gift on Elon Day through your custom peer-to-peer fundraising page. Choose a
campus cause most meaningful to you and watch the dollars grow!

  • Join and encourage others to take part in Elon Day events.
  • Spread the word. Tag your favorite Elon photos on social with #ElonDay.
  • Join alumni, parents and friends around the world in wearing your maroon and gold.

All Champions who make their own Elon Day gift will receive an Elon Day t-shirt (while supplies last) and Elon Day sticker mailed to their doorstep in mid March. All Champions are automatically amplifiers too!

2. Amplifiers

Amplifiers are digital buzz builders! They make their own gift of any size and spread Elon Day excitement online and in the communities they call home. This is the perfect opportunity for you if having a peer to peer fundraising page isn’t quite your thing— we still need your support!

  • Spread the word. Tag your favorite Elon photos on social with #ElonDay. Boost the day to your networks!
  • Join and encourage others to take part in Elon Day events. More info to come in February!
  • Connect with friends and encourage them to make a gift on Elon Day.
  • Join alumni, parents and friends around the world in wearing your maroon and gold.

All Amplifiers who make their own Elon Day gift will receive an Elon Day sticker mailed to their doorstep in mid March. To sign up to be an Amplifier, email giving@elon.edu.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between a Champion and an Amplifier?

So glad you asked! The primary difference between Champions and Amplifiers are the peer-to-peer fundraising pages. This award-winning technology makes it easy for you to pick your favorite campus cause and ask your family, friends, co-workers, neighbors, Amazon delivery person, favorite coffee shop barista (shall we go on?) to support you and your fundraising goals.

All Champions who make their own Elon Day gift will receive an Elon Day t-shirt and sticker mailed to their doorstep for going above and beyond for Elon students! If peer-to-peer fundraising pages aren’t your thing, we still need your support and we welcome you to sign up to be an Amplifier. We’ll even mail you a fun sticker as a thank you.

How do I sign up to be a Champion?

It’s easy! Visit the sign-up form here. Complete both sections and your personalized fundraising page will be made available to you in early March before Elon Day.

When do I get my shirt?

Elon Day T-shirts are always a crowd favorite! All Champions who make their personal Elon Day gift will receive their t-shirt by Wednesday, March 20.

What can I fundraise for as a Champion? How should I decide?

You can select any designation! Choose what you love at Elon, whether that’s scholarships, an academic school, an athletic team, or any other of the many options available to you.

I don’t see the fund I want to raise money for on the list. What do I do?

There are so many designations to choose from! Having trouble finding the one for you, or don’t see the fund listed you’d like to raise money for? Email Lauren Forbis ‘15, Director of Annual Giving, at lforbis3@elon.edu to learn how we will support you in your Elon Day efforts.

Who can sign up to be a volunteer?

All are welcome! Alumni, parents, students, faculty, staff, and friends are all encouraged to volunteer as a Champion or Amplifier.

What can I expect once I sign up to be a Champion? What's the deal with the pages?

When you sign up to be a Champion, you will receive a confirmation email summarizing your fundraising page selection. You’ll then be invited to an optional virtual drop-in session to learn more about tools like Bonus Bucks that will help take your Elon Day fundraising to the next level. You’ll be provided with easy copy-and-paste content you can use to spread the word on Elon Day to meet your fundraising goals. Equipped with all the information you need, you’ll be ready to keep on fighting till the end (Queen, anyone?) just like a champion.

If someone makes a gift on Venmo, does it count toward my fundraising goals on my peer-to-peer fundraising page?

We love Venmo, and gifts made on Venmo (@ElonGiving) will absolutely count toward overall Elon Day gifts. But, only gifts made via credit card on your personal page will count toward your total dollar and gifts goal.

What if I need to edit my page?

Please email Katie Irvine, Assistant Director of Annual Giving, at kirvine2@elon.edu with your requested edits.
