Elon Day 101

Everyone, including you! All alumni, students, parents, grandparents, faculty, staff and friends are invited to participate in Elon Day by making gifts to areas across the university that support students as they rise to the world’s challenges.

Your Elon Day donations provide life-changing experiences that help students find their passions and prepare them to tackle the world’s great challenges. That includes students like Innea, Jose and Nancy:

You know Nancy Wilkins ’25. You’ve seen her on the field at halftime during football games. Nancy is THE featured twirler with the Fire of the Carolinas. She’s also a Presidential Scholar and Business Fellow who has studied abroad twice during her time at Elon. “I can’t wait to see what my final year at Elon holds for me, and, following graduation, I hope to pursue a career in human resources,” says Nancy. “All of this is possible because of the generosity of others!”

Community is everything to Jose Torres-Reyes ’25, who has found it in a lot of places starting his first day on campus as a Mac Mahon Family Odyssey Scholar. “I’m part of El Centro, an important space for me and the Latino-Hispanic community. I’m also a member of Lambda Upsilon Lambda, a Latino fraternity focused on helping our community and access to higher education,” says Jose.

Through Elon’s International Business Dual-Degree Program, Ineaa Gray ’25 will earn two degrees, from two universities, in just four years. A true servant leader and Doherty Odyssey Scholar, Ineaa tutors students in the Boys & Girls Club and was named to Elon’s Service Honor Roll. She also organized and led an Alternative Break to Washington, D.C., where she and fellow students participated in service projects with food banks, shelters and elementary schools.  She envisions a career in service, and she’s grateful to Elon’s donors. “One day, I’ll be in a position to offer resources to dreamers, the same way others have done for me.”

Great question! If you or your spouse works for a company with a matching gift program, your donation on Elon Day could double or triple. Simply fill out a matching gift form from your HR office, include it with your gift, and we’ll handle the rest. Enter your employer’s name in the box on our matching gift site to find out if your company or organization participates in a matching gift program.
