The economic downturn caused by COVID-19 has left many Elon students wondering if they will be able to continue their Elon education next year. While scholarships have always been a priority for Elon, many students are in need of financial assistance now more than ever. If you are in a position to give at any level, please consider contributing to the Students First Fund to provide resources to students whose futures at Elon are now at risk. Students First is an initiative that the entire Elon community can rally around. A gift of any size will make a major impact on students who, because of support from the fund, will be able to continue their Elon education.

What is the Students First Fund?

Students First is a new current-use (non-endowed) annual fund providing financial assistance to students whose futures at Elon are at risk due to the economic downturn caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. All of the funds received will directly impact current and incoming students for the 2020-2021 academic year and will be distributed as grants.

Is Elon accepting donations to other designations at this time?

Yes. All designations at Elon are still receiving donations. You may contribute to other priorities or areas of campus that are meaningful to you using Elon’s general giving form.

Can I contribute to Students First via phone, mail or Venmo?

Yes. We recommend making your gift online using the Students First giving form here. However, donors can also:

  • Give by phone: Call Elon’s gift processing team at 336-278-7444
  • Give by mail: Send gifts to 2600 Campus Box, Elon, NC 27244
  • Give on Venmo: @ElonGiving. Please include “Students First” in the comments.
  • Give through a donor advised fund: Contact Elon’s gift processing team at 336-278-7444.

I want to give, but I prefer not to be recognized on the Students First webpage. What should I do?

On the Students First giving form, click the box that says, “I do not wish to be publicly recognized for this gift” to prevent your name from showing up on the Students First donor list. Note that your gift amount will appear as an anonymous gift on the list.

Who can I contact for more information?

Please reach out to giving@elon.edu with additional questions.

Donors step forward

May 14, 2020

A number of Elon donors have already stepped forward to support the Students First Fund. Their early support of Students First means more assistance for deserving Elon students who want the opportunity to complete their education at Elon. Many thanks to these generous donors!
