Professional Development Funding
Although there are many professional development programs and resources offered through our office and university partners, we recognize that staff may need something more specialized to achieve their professional goals. Professional development funds, also known as grants-in-aid, are available for those who need extra funding for materials (e.g., books), tuition and registration fees, and travel costs.
Grant-in-Aid funding is limited, and awards typically range from $100-$300 per year. Grant-in-Aid requests should be tied to your professional development goals. It would be helpful if departments could provide matching funds.
Grant-In-Aid Process
Applying
- Download and complete the OLPD grant in aid application.
- Send the completed and signed form to Chris Leupold, Campus Box 2337 (or email a scanned copy to cleupold@elon.edu).
You will be notified within two weeks of submitting an application about whether or not you have been approved for funding (as well as the approved amount, if granted).
Reporting
Once you’ve completed your professional development, we’d like to hear back from you about how the funds contributed to your professional development goals. We use this feedback to help us better understand the impact these funds have on the university community.
- Download and complete the Grant-In-Aid Form B Summary Report.
- Send the completed and signed form to Chris Leupold, Campus Box 2337 (or email a scanned copy to cleupold@elon.edu).
