Maker Takeover is Coming on May 1!

Get ready for the 5th Annual Maker Takeover – Elon’s ultimate celebration of creativity! Join us on May 1 from 4:30-6:30 to celebrate student-made projects, make some things of your own, enjoy ice cream, and much more!

Over 40 Student-made Projects

Oak Originals

A proud partner with the Doherty Center for Creativity, Innovation, and Entrepreneurship, student vendors utilize the Maker Hub to help build their brands, prototype their ideas, and create products to sell. Learn more about Oak Originals on their website.

Say hi to Q, the newest robotic addition to the Engineering department. Several research projects center on improving or adapting Q for different scenarios or usages. While some may find Q slightly intimidating, Q is really friendly!

Escape Room

Phoenix feather in front of door for escape roomQuest of the Phoenix is our newest escape room! You and your friends are under a terrible spell and must find the Phoenix and its feather to reverse the curse and escape before midnight.

Sign-up in person at Maker Takeover, starting at 4:30. First-come, first-serve. The room can fit up to 6 students, and each game will run every 30 minutes til 8:30.

Eat nitrogen ice cream

Elon Dining will be making ice cream using liquid nitrogen! Take a break from the excitement of Maker Takeover and partake in a yummy, sweet treat provided by Elon Dining!

Adulting: Basic PlumbingLearn how to fix a leaking sink, repair and unclog a toilet, and shut off supply water. Plumbing team members will give tips and advice so you can fix these problems yourself.

3D Design Contest – $1000 in prizes!

Win a share of $1,000!Learn more about Maker Hub’s first-ever 3D design contest, including how to submit your favorite designs and share them with your friends. Not interested in learning how to 3D design? That’s OK—prizes are also available for models found on the Internet. The contest ends on May 5, and more details are on the Maker Hub website.
