Mission

The First-Year Experience at Elon University is a constellation of courses, programs, and opportunities designed to facilitate your academic, personal, and social transition to university life. The overall experience is intended to foster your sense of belonging and to provide the foundation for your continued growth and development as individuals, members of the university community, and global citizens.

As a result of participation in the FYE, students will:

  • Learn: Bolster your confidence and competence as you recognize the impact of your decisions and connect your learning in and outside of the classroom.
  • Connect: Make positive connections with faculty, staff, and peers as you become an active member of the university and broader Alamance County community.
  • Thrive: Cultivate your personal wellness values that will last throughout and beyond your time at Elon.
