Early 1990s Database

Scroll down to the form on the lower segment of this page to hunt for specific quotes in a database of more than 4,000 statements made by 1,000 internet stakeholders between 1990 and 1995.

Type any search word of your choice in the box at the top (examples: democracy; privacy; e-commerce; freedom; dog; Brin; Dyson; ethics), or search by predictor’s name (example: Cerf; Mitchell; Barlow; Berners-Lee). You only need to pick one field to search, but if you wish you can select an expertise, topic, year of prediction or subtopics from the pull-down menu, or choose any of the other search possibilities.

Please note! The immediate results pages do NOT show the complete quotes and supporting detail; only the first few lines are there. To get the full details of each quote and its origin, click on the colorful title type on the search results pages.

After you are done perusing a set of search results, in order to reset the site to begin a new search please click on the bright blue bar above your current results that reads “New Search.”
