Young writes: ”Bill Gates, chairman and chief executive of Microsoft Corp., Redmond, Wash., said software retailers already allow customers to purchase and download software from the Web and that will continue in the future … Gates said the idea that the PC is dead is simply hype. ‘The notion that you’re going to build a terminal with limited functionality is a bunch of malarkey.’ Web browsers, however, will continue to improve, he said. ‘Web browsing is going to be one of the most demanding, computer-intensive things you do on your PC.'”
