Name: Chad Johnson

From: Minnesota

Bio: internet user/futurist

Area of Expertise: Futurist/Consultant

Topic: Community/Culture

Headline: Two distinct cultures of people

Nutshell: By 2020 there will still be people that will refuse to use the internet. Those people will form their own communities and use what technology "we" [people who embrace technology] regard as old-fashioned. i.e - sending mail via U.S. Postal Service.

Vision:

Humans who do not embrace the internet as a major part of their life will develope into a sub-culture (similiar to the Amish). They will have entire cities and towns and do day to day activities "the old fashion way".

Their cars will still depend largely on human beings controlling them, instead of a computer conecting to various satelites to get from point A to B. They will still go to stores or malls for all their purchases. They will buy their music at a store in a mall.
