Headline: Telecommuting will be the norm for technology workers
Nutshell: By 2015, half of the white-collar workforce will telecommute (work from home) at least 1 day a week.
Vision:With the high cost of living near large cities, the time & cost of commuting, and the pervasiveness high speed internet connections, US employers will offer almost all white-collar workers a telecommuting option by 2015 (at least 1 day/week).
By 2025, full time telecommuting for white-collar workers will be the norm as US companies save money by not leasing office space. International telecommuting will also be quite common, allowing workers to live almost anywhere on the planet (where high-speed internet connections are available).
