Name: Les Tovani

From: Virginia

Bio: BS Computer Science 1969. Computer user since 1967and Internet user

Area of Expertise: Technology Developer/Administrator

Topic: Communication

Headline: Always Online

Nutshell: Reach out and touch someone, anytime, anyplace.

Vision:

Technology will allow everyone to have a "cell phone" which may not be like the ones we use today but something that is small enough to fit into an ear and allow two-way communications coupled with a video feed to glasses you wear (all wireless).

Because it will be so prevelant in our society, there will not be the concern that we have today with people driving and talking on their cell phone. We’ll have grown up with this capability and we’ll be able to "multiprocess" and be still be safely aware of our surroundings.

The communications reach will be worldwide and you’ll be able to reach anyone, whether it is in the middle of an urban canyon or the middle of the desert. I’m envious of my great-grandchildren because it will happen their lifetime.
