Nutshell: We will lose our anonymity in an effort to combat spam, viruses, and legal liability of web sites.
Vision:Most of the undesireable traits of the Internet can be traced back to the fact the the purveyors of such undesireable traits can remain anonymous. Spam, viruses, and kids surfing porn. The only way I can see to combat this in a truly robust and sure manner is to positively identify each user on the net.
We will lose the ability to remain anonymous when interacting with others on the internet in order to combat this.
