Nutshell: Video phones will access people's at-home boxes within five years.
Vision:I have a video chat-capable cell phone, and I teach English in Japan with a video conference system that connects to peoples’ televisions. Early video phones failed because too few people bought them because they were expensive. What about a phone that connects to your existing screen and is operated with a remote control? Cell phones already have colour screens and cameras; my 1-yen phone has a video chat option. Will I be able to vid-phone people’s at-home boxes? Probably within five years.
