Name: Darkflame

Bio: Webmaster/Programmer

Area of Expertise: Technology Developer/Administrator

Topic: Getting, Sharing Information

Headline: Semantic Knowledge and Idea Network

Nutshell: In short, humanity will become a hivemind and all people will be able to work together to contribute to collective progress.

Vision:

It’s happening already – ideas are being swapped faster than ever before, and developments in technology are happening at an increasingly rapid pace because of this. (Offseting the effect that it’s getting harder for an individual to invent something.)

At the moment, the internet is random, disorganised. However, in the future – potentially in the near future – a semantic database could be made. Any piece of knowledge, or any proposal could be submitted by anyone at any time. More importantly, the proposals can be linked to others it depends upon (e.g.: an invention of a car would depend on an engine).

Anyone can suggest, link, modify and vote for proposals.

Letting every human who wishes to contribute to solving problems in this way would effectively make the net a hivemind, with each human contributing to the collective progress of the whole.
