In a 1995 article in Network Computing magazine, a number of Internet pioneers and administrators were asked for their predictions for the year 2000. Vinton Cerf comments: ”At least 300 million people will be using the Internet by the year 2000. Also, assuming IPv6 gets going at all, and that the Internet continues to double in size every year, it might be 1999 before we’ll see 50 percent penetration of IPv6.”
