Elon University
The prediction, in brief:

The way you browse local information and the way you browse remote information will be a seamless experience.

Predictor: Gates, Bill

Prediction, in context:

In a 1995 article for Red Herring magazine, Alex S. Vieux interviews Microsoft CEO Bill Gates in Madrid, Spain, at the European Technology Roundtable Exposition. Gates says: ”If you looked around Microsoft and asked, ‘What’s the theme that’s driving innovation here?’ you would discover it is the Internet far more than anything else. That means making Windows the best client software for the Net – having all the browsing capability not only built-in, but integrated with the shell experience. The way you browse local information and the way you browse remote information will be a seamless experience. Another example is the Word group, which has been charged with making Word an excellent way to author and read online content. We realize that the future of the company rests in part on how well we can adapt to a competitive environment changed by the Internet.”
