Topic: Technology

Headline: A Future Where Nothing Works

Nutshell: No software or hardware is compatible because technology is changing so rapidly.

Vision:

I see it every day. A new version of hardware/software is released but in order to install or get it to work you have to have a particular/specific version of some other piece of hardware/software.

I predict that there will be a point in time when "NOTHING WORKS" simply because everything is changing too fast. I also predict that we will get past it but that’s another prediction. :-)

My prediction is based on the concept of Moore’s Law, which, to this day has held true. My prediction (at least to me) is an obvious side-effect of Moore’s law! Software manufacturing companies are just beginning to see the impacts of this and I believe they will get more prevalent.
