Name: Andrew Kirkman

Bio: Random Thinker

Area of Expertise: Pioneer/Originator

Topic: Controversial Issues

Headline: Are We Headed for an Anti-Social World?

Nutshell: Without the need to leave the house, will people bother? If computers can do everything and communication is easy, we will become lazy and anti-social.

Vision:

Internet addiction is already a problem. With online shopping, online gambling, online chatting, will people need to leave their homes? When web cams become better people will be able to have real-time conversation with others w/o leaving their homes. And if virtual reality is ever realised will we all just end up becoming computer junkies, living in the world of our dreams, letting automations order our lives and make sure we sustain ourselves?

Will we end up with the nightmare that modern fiction and movies have portrayed in numerous scenarios of prophetic doom?
