Headline: Computer Terminals’ Future

Nutshell: In the future, desktop computers will be replaced with terminals in a distributed-processing format.

Vision:

Computer advancements will enable one computer to service the needs of thousands of users. Rather than buy a computer, people will sign up with a provider, and be given a terminal. The terminal will only be a monitor with mouse and keyboard, that accesses and processes information instaneously across a data connection that allows over 100gb per second of information. Customers will no longer need upgraded hardware, because the upgrades will be done to the system as a whole on one computer. One computer that thousands connect to. This will allow companies to centrally implement video on demand, programs on demand, and games on demand to thousands of customers, at a cheap cost.
