Name: christine cassata
From: Wisconsin
Bio: internet user for more than 10 years. basically grew up with the internet and use it extensively
Area of Expertise: Technology Developer/Administrator
Topic: Getting, Sharing Information
Headline: From amatuer to professional – all online
Nutshell: Books, movies, information on history, economics, policies, papers and tons and tons of personal opinions.
Vision:Not only this, but information that groups try to withhold from you, will become availible through amatuer sources publishing their findings and their answers on the web.
Nothing will be hidden, nothing will go without notice. There will be no way to censor information because the more censorship is attempted, the more the amateurs will protest.
The internet could become very polarized in this way, similar to what has happened to this country in so many other ways.
Eventually it will come down to the amateurs vs. the professionals. And when it comes to exchange of knowledge, free exchange always comes out on top. Eventually, as will probably happen to the US in political and social ways, the internet too will experience a breaking point, after which the passion of the amateurs will outwit the stagnation of the pundits and professionals.
Ideas will be exchanged freely, and through the internet and other high-flow means of communication, people will come together and organize against those trying to suppress their right to knowledge. The internet could prove, in this way, the downfall of the age of conservatism.
As communication flows freer, the exchange of knowledge raises exponentially and lies become quickly exposed. When lies become exposed and assessed to be true, extensive, manipulative lies, people are always prone to become enraged because hey, no one likes to be taken for a fool.
So bottom line, the internet will keep growing and so will communication. Enhanced communication will expose lies. exposed lies will beget rage. Rage will beget change. To you conservatives: whether you like it or not the change is coming and you will be powerless against its crashing waves.
