Headline: Merging Cable TV and the Internet
Nutshell: One day you'll be able download your favorite shows and channels rather than paying for cable.
Vision:I envision being able to download either my favorite show or my favorite TV station (ESPN, FOX News) through the Internet rather than paying high cable bills for channels and shows I don’t watch. This will be very similar to how you can already download songs into your iPod. Apple has just introduced an iPod that stores images, so full-length video is not far behind. This process will certainly take time as cable companies will be slow to adjust. However, probably within ten years you won’t need a TV or a cable subscription to watch your favorite reality TV show. You’ll simply pay for it online, or pay for the TV station it’s on, and enjoy it that way.
