Headline: The Future of Unions

Nutshell: Unions will use the internet to organize and service their members worldwide, thereby reflecting the global nature of modern corporations.

Vision:

Unions face a grim future given their ever-declining membership. Therefore, in order to counter the detrimental effects of outsourcing and globalization in general, these protectors of the little guy will have to become multinational organizations.

Unions will have members in many different countries, each with disparate labor laws and wages that, very slowly, will start to look more similar. I believe that the Union is the organizational engine that will drive this change.

How does this relate to the internet? The union will have to expand very quickly to counterbalance the efforts of their corporate counterparts – the only way to this is by servicing members and organizing by using the awesome power of the internet.
