2024 Mentoring in Meaningful Relationships Summit

The inaugural Mentoring in Meaningful Relationships Summit at Elon University will bring together faculty, staff, and administrative leaders, innovators, and change agents from diverse campuses to explore how colleges and universities can create environments where all community members can form meaningful relationships that lead to thriving and belonging.

This invitation-only event will gather educators, leaders, and administrators from across the nation to explore, discuss, and create principles and practices that foster meaningful relationships across an institution. Influential roles that we know foster meaningful relationships in collegiate communities include professors/instructors, advisors, coaches, leaders, supervisors, sponsors, advocates, and peer mentors.

With the landscape of education evolving rapidly, the summit presents a unique opportunity to share success stories, collaboratively address challenges, and discuss strategies to integrate and scale on-ramps for mentoring through meaningful relationship initiatives across the entire campus. When we mentor in meaningful relationships, we meet people where they are and help them find and achieve their purpose, ultimately enhancing their experience as students, staff, and faculty on our campuses.

Event Details

Date: Monday, June 24 – Wednesday, June 26, 2024

Time: Welcome reception at 5 p.m. June 24 through closing at noon June 26

Location: Elon University and The Inn at Elon

Accommodations: The Inn at Elon, 605 N. O’Kelly Ave., Elon, North Carolina

Cost: Free registration and hotel. Institutions are expected to pay for participant travel.

Attendance: Teams of three to four faculty, administrators, staff, and/or students from colleges and universities across the country. Attendees will bring a range of experience from emerging to ongoing engagement in developing and/or leading programs or initiatives that sustain mentoring efforts on your campus.

Attire: Business casual

Transportation: Attendees traveling by air can fly into Piedmont Triad International Airport in Greensboro (about 40 minutes from campus) or Raleigh-Durham International Airport (about an hour from campus). Both airports have rental car and ride share options. View driving directions to campus
