ELON COLLEGE – About 100 students from 15 area schools will participate in a math contest at Elon College on Saturday, March 7.
This is the 21st year that Elon has hosted the contest, said Richard Haworth, professor of mathematics. “The competition is tough. The top 7 percent of students will be eligible to go on to the state competition and compete for scholarships.”
The contest is sponsored by the North Carolina Council of Teachers of Mathematics and the mathematics section of the State Department of Public Instruction.
