Elon College students, faculty to be initiated into Phi Kappa Phi

ELON COLLEGE – Fifty-eight students and two faculty members at Elon College will be inducted Tuesday, April 20 into Phi Kappa Phi, a national honor society. The ceremony will be held at 6:30 p.m. in McKinnon Hall in Moseley Center.

The society, the highest academic awarded at Elon, recognizes seniors who are scholastically in the upper 10 percent of their class and juniors who are in the top five percent of their class. Graduate students may be elected, but their number must not exceed 10 percent of those to receive degrees that year.

Faculty members to be inducted are Dr. Laura Helvey, assistant professor of political science, and Dr. Joan Gundersen who is dean of the social sciences division.
