ELON COLLEGE— The fiber art of North Carolina artist Marguerite Gignoux will be showcased in a 5:30 to 7 p.m. reception Monday, Sept. 13 in the Isabella Cannon Room in the Faith Rockefeller Model Center for the Arts at Elon College.
Gignoux is Elon’s 1999 Dwight Merrimon Davidson Visiting Artist. Items on exhibition include sewn and woven collages, art quilts, fiber art, hand-dyed fabrics and handmade paper. The reception is free and open to the public. The art will remain on display in the Cannon Room through Oct. 15.
Many hospitals, schools and museums in North Carolina have commissioned the work of Gignoux, who owns a studio in Carrboro.
