Klopman named dean of admissions

ELON COLLEGE – Susan C. Klopman has been named dean of admissions at Elon College. Klopman, who has been assistant dean of admissions since 1996, will assume her new duties April 3.

She replaces Nan P. Perkins, vice president for enrollment management and dean of admissions and financial planning, who has been named vice president for institutional advancement.
Klopman has a bachelor’s degree from St. Andrews College, Laurinburg, N.C., and a master’s degree in liberal studies from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro.

She first came to Elon College in 1985 as assistant director of publications and public information. In 1991 she was named director of foundation and corporate relations, and in 1993 was named assistant to the president and served as a member of the college’s senior staff.
As assistant dean of admissions, Klopman has been in charge of enrollment management, which includes the application and academic scholarship processes. Annually, she has managed communication with more than 60,000 high school students and directed the processing of more than 5,500 applications for admission to the college.
