Alumni class reunions, activities for students and a football game at the new Rhodes Stadium will highlight Elon’s Homecoming Reunion Weekend 2001, scheduled for Nov. 9-11.
Visiting alumni will have the chance to take a guided tour of the campus, hear an address from Elon President Leo M. Lambert and enjoy the annual alumni brunch. The Phoenix football team will host defending NCAA Division I-AA national champion Georgia Southern University at Rhodes Stadium, which is currently under construction and will open in the fall. Other events include the Sports Hall of Fame induction ceremony, the Alumni Extravaganza social and tailgating activities. Golden Alumni, those who graduated at least 50 years ago, will be honored at a special reception.
A homecoming events planning session, set for Saturday, Feb. 24, will give alumni a chance to have input into this year’s events and schedule.
