Guest lecturer Kevin Bales will discuss his research into the lives of people living as slaves in Thailand, Pakistan and Brazil during a lecture at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 14 in McCrary Theatre, located on the Elon campus in the Faith Rockefeller Model Center for the Arts.
Bales is professor of sociology at Roehampton Institute at the University of Surrey in England. He has conducted extensive research in the area of slavery, and authored a 1999 book titled “Disposable People: New Slavery in the Global Economy.”
