Students will be homeless during “One Homeless Night,” April 19

With cold weather in the forecast, Elon students will experience the harsh reality of homelessness during “One Homeless Night,” beginning at 9 p.m., Thursday, April 19 on Young Commons, located in front of Moseley Center on the Elon campus.

About 50 students will spend the night sleeping in cardboard boxes, simulating the experience endured nightly by homeless people throughout the world. Sponsored by Elon Volunteers, “One Homeless Night” is designed to raise awareness of the homeless problem and the issues surrounding it.

A collection of canned goods, blankets and other items will be gathered during the event for donation to the Allied Churches of Alamance County.
