The Brno Chamber Orchestra will perform in concert with pianist Michiko Otaki at 7:30 p.m., Tuesday, March 5 in Whitley Auditorium, located on the Elon University campus.
Founded in 1977, the orchestra is an ensemble from Brno, the cultural center of the Czech Moravian region. Artistic director Jiri Mottl was concert-master of the Moravian Chamber Orchestra and winner of the international violin competition in Lausanne, Switzerland.
The concert will include Mozart’s “Piano Concerto in F major, K. 413,” and works by Moravian composer Karel Kohout, Ottorino Respighi and Dmitri Shostakovich.
Tickets for the concert are $12, or free for those with valid Elon identification. Tickets may be purchased by calling the McCrary Theatre box office at (336) 278-5610. The box office is open from 12:30 p.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
