The Elon University department of music will present a weekend of entertaining performances in Whitley Auditorium March 15-16. Both programs begin at 7:30 p.m., and are open to the public, free of charge.
The Elon University Camerata will perform in concert Friday, March 15. The concert will feature choral music from the group’s recent tour of Charlotte, Atlanta and Savannah, Ga. Secular and sacred pieces from a variety of periods and styles will be included. The music will also feature the work of famous composers, including Palestrina, Mozart, Brahms, Ives and Hogan.
The music department Gala, scheduled for March 16, will feature department faculty in performances of instrumental solos, chamber music and operatic excerpts. Student winners of the prestigious Fletcher Foundation Scholarship will also perform.
