Fiction author to hold February 24 reading at Elon

Wendy Brenner, winner of the prestigious Flannery O’Connor Award for short fiction, will read from her work at 7:30 p.m., Monday, Feb. 24 in Yeager Recital Hall, located in the Faith Rockefeller Model Center for the Arts on the Elon University campus.

Brenner, a professor at the University of North Carolina, Wilmington, is the author of the short story collections “Phone Calls from the Dead” and “Large Animals in Everyday Life.” Her stories have appeared in numerous magazines, including the Oxford American, Mississippi Review, Five Points and Story. She was a recipient of a National Endowment for the Arts Fellowship, and has been a winner of the Henfield Transatlantic Review Award and the Associated Writing Programs Intro Award.

The reading is sponsored by the Elon University English Department and is free and open to the public.
