Dr. Anthony Crider of the Department of Physics recently presented an invited talk at a meeting of amateur astronomers held in Jamestown, NC. In his speech, titled “It’s The End of the World as We Know It”, Crider discussed the likelihood of several apocalypse scenarios, including the explosions of nearby supernovae, the evolution of our Sun, and the Earth’s inevitable collision with a large asteroid.
An article describing the presentation appeared in the March 2 issue of the High Point Enterprise.
