Elan, Elon University’s vocal jazz ensemble, will present a concert at 7:30 p.m., Saturday, March 15 in McCrary Theatre, located on campus. The concert is free and open to the public.
Titled “élan classique,” the concert will feature special guest artist Kate Reid, who will sing with both the vocal ensemble and the rhythm section. Reid, head of vocal jazz at Cypress College in California, has performed with notable artists such as Rosemary Clooney, Della Reese, Paul Anka, Liza Minelli and the Duke Ellington Orchestra.
The ensemble will be accompanied by Gary Brunotte on piano, Charles Gambetta on bass and Elon student Jon Rahilly on percussion. The concert will feature classic and jazz tunes such as “Star Dust,” “Take the A Train,” and “You’d Be So Nice To Come Home To.”
