The Elon University Wind Ensemble will perform its 14th annual family concert at 7:30 p.m., Monday, March 10 in McCrary Theatre, located in the Faith Rockefeller Model Center for the Arts on the Elon campus.
The concert is suitable for all ages and will include door prizes. Stephen Futrell, assistant professor of music, will serve as master of ceremonies. The ensemble, directed by Tom Erdmann and Bill DeJournett, will perform traditional pop pieces including two marches by John Philip Sousa, Vaclav Nelybel’s powerful “Festivo,” and the famous symphonic poem, “Danse Macabre,” which explores witches flying on brooms and other spooky mischief.
The performance is free and open to the public.
