Trustees focus on campus life

Members of the Elon board of trustees attended special break-out sessions with students during their annual spring meeting, March 11-12. Details...

The sessions, organized by Smith Jackson, vice president for student life, focused on Multicultural Affairs, Greek Life and the Alcohol 101 program, an interactive CD-ROM cyber game.

Each of the 45-minute sessions included student presentations. The Multicultural Affairs students discussed their cultures, experiences and involvements at Elon and abroad. The fraternity and sorority members talked about the power of their organizations and their efforts to engage students in educationally purposeful activites and promote a strong sense of community and campus spirit. The students demonstrating Alcohol 101 talked about the ways that the program engages students in making informed choices about drinking or not drinking in a virtual party setting.
