Elon to host conference on terrorism and culture of war, April 3-4

Elon will host “Terrorism, Fundamentalism and Culture of War,” a two-day conference featuring scholars and current students, Thursday-Friday, April 3-4. The conference is sponsored by Asian-Pacific Studies, the Department of Political Science, the Department of Religious Studies, the International Studies Program, the North Carolina Humanities Council, Phi Alpha Theta, Project Pericles, the Religious Life Office, Student Government Association, and the Society for Indian Philosophy & Religion.

The conference will explore the relationships between various religious faiths, political beliefs, terrorism and war.

Elon faculty members who are scheduled to present include Rudy Zarzar, professor of political science; John Sullivan, professor of philosophy; Brian Digre, professor of history; Laura Roselle, associate professor of political science; and Sandy Smith-Nonini, assistant professor of anthropology. Elon students who will present are Sabra Monroe and Krishna Manek.
