The students participated in the international competition, Consortium for Mathematics and its Applications.
The team that competed in the pure Math competition (Ryan Huff ‘03, Ryan Barnard ‘05, Phil Pigg ‘04) scored an Honorable Mention (third level, only 39 teams in the world scored better on their problem). We had two teams complete in the interdisciplinary modeling competition. One team (Daisy Cunningham ’03, Adam Benjamin ‘04, and TJ Zeller ‘04) got a Meritorious score (second level, only 5 teams in the world scored higher) and the other team (Bob Davis ‘03, Katie Iwancio ‘03, and Brian DeYoung ‘03) got Successful Participant.
This is quite an accomplishment for all of these students and they should be congratulated! The faculty advisors should also be recocognized – congratulations to Crista Coles and Todd Lee!
