The concert is part of The Adams Foundation Piano Recital Series, and is sponsored by Elon and Times-News Publishing Co.
The Contiguglias perform a vast repertoire of music for two pianos and for one piano, four-hands, extending from the Baroque to the modern, repertoire that includes examples of almost every important composer from Bach to Bolcom.The concert will feature a program of original duets by Franz Schubert, including “Marche Militataire,” “Introduction and Variations on an Original Theme,” and “Fantasy in F Minor.”
The Contiguglias have played with major orchestras, including the Cleveland Orchestra, the Pittsburgh Symphony, the Boston Pops and the Rotterdam Philharmonic. Born to Italian immigrant parents in Auburn, N.Y., the Contiguglias have performed as a duo since age 5. They received their bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Yale University.
