The Day of Silence – April 8

On Tuesday, between 50 and 60 students and staff members will take part in the National Day of Silence, an event designed to end the hate and ignorance faced by gay, lesbian, bisexual, and transgender people in our society. It is also a way to let people know they have nothing to fear in being themselves

Throughout the day, volunteers will wear t-shirts showing their support, with many actually taking a vow of silence. This day is a way for GLBT people and their straight allies to make a statement against the silenced faced by countless men and women in our world.

“What will you do to end the silence?”

The Day of Silence project is sponsored by Spectrum and Elon Volunteers.
