SGA presents shuttle Columbia resolution to NASA


A resolution by the Elon Student Government Association expressing sympathy and support for NASA in the wake of the space shuttle Columbia tragedy was presented to the administration recently by an Elon student.

Kristi Durham presented a framed copy of the resolution on March 28 to Delma Freeman, director of the NASA center at Langley Air Force Base in Hampton, Va. Freeman thanked Durham and Elon SGA, saying, “We have received overwhelming support from people from many different organizations.”

The resolution, passed by SGA on Feb. 13, will be sent to the Johnson Space Center in Houston to become part of a roaming exhibit being created to memorialize the astronauts lost in the Columbia disaster Feb. 1.
