A Web site produced by the School of Communications at Elon University has been awarded the top prize in its category during a recent national competition.
The school’s Web site (www.elon.edu/communications) won first place honors in the department or school site category in the 2003 “Best of the Web” competition. The competition is sponsored by the Association for Education in Journalism and Mass Communication (AEJMC). Elon’s site was judged to be the best among the eight entries received in the category. A group of judges, who have experience in Web site construction and design, select the winners.
Paul Parsons, dean of the School of Communications, and Janna Anderson, director of Internet projects for the School of Communications, are the primary authors and designers of the site. Visitors to the site can take a virtual tour of the school’s facilities, learn more about Elon’s communications curriculum and see examples of students’ work in a variety of communications mediums.
