Elon students Brian O’Shea, Jon Williams, Zachary Lauritzen and Bryan Scherich are among 70 Pi Kappa Phi fraternity brothers who are taking part in Journey of Hope, a cross country bike ride to raise awareness about people with disabilities. The 63-day, 3,900-mile journey began June 15 in San Francisco and will end in Washington, DC.

The cyclists split into two separate teams June 22 as they left Nevada to complete the journey on separate northern and southern routes. Along the way, riders will stop in communities to meet with citizens, those who are overcoming disabilities and hold seminars to raise awareness about the issue.
