The Tony Award-winning National Theatre of the Deaf will present “Oh, Figaro!” at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 10 in McCrary Theatre, located in the Center for the Arts on campus. The performance is part of the Anne Ellington Powell Master Artists Series.
In this romantic comedy, based on two of Pierre Beaumarchais’ classic French farces, the audience follows the adventures of Figaro, a playful jack-of-all-trades in Spanish Harlem, where romantic rivalries begin.
Founded in 1967, the National Theatre of the Deaf has produced more than 60 national tours and 8,000 performances, and is the oldest continually-producing touring theatre company in the United States. The company uses American Sign Language to entertain and inform its audiences.
Tickets for the performance are $12, or free for those with valid Elon identification. Tickets may be purchased by calling the McCrary Theatre box office at (336) 278-5610. The box office is open from 12:30 p.m.-5 p.m., Monday-Friday.
